Abstract

ABSTRACT

The study aimed to explain the role of Islamic social financing tools, represented by zakat, endowments, and Islamic banks, in Economic empowerment of Jordanian women, and clarifying the reality of economic empowerment of Jordanian women. The study used the descriptive approach. To clarify economic empowerment and Islamic social financing, and the analytical approach to analyze the reality of Jordanian women’s economic empowerment, and to analyze the role of Islamic social financing tools in women’s economic empowerment. The results revealed that the economic empowerment of Jordanian women was not very successful, as the percentage of women’s projects was low and the phenomenon of fines was widespread. It was also found that Islamic social financing has effective mechanisms; Such as zakat, endowments, and Islamic banks, but this tools are not exploited due to the absence of organization and institutionalization. It is possible to benefit from these tools and allocate part of them to finance the economic empowerment of Jordanian women, through the obligation of zakat, encouraging charity and endowment, and urging Islamic banks to support the economic empowerment of Jordanian women. To activate Islamic social financing mechanisms, the study recommends establishing a joint fund for Islamic social financing in which funds from various tools are pooled to collect large sums, managed by specialized bodies that apply all requirements for success, and consisting of integrated units; To form a unified national source for providing financing, establishing and following up projects.
