Keywords:
Democratization, Responsiveness, Public demands.Abstract
This study aimed to investigate the impact of the level of democratization on the level of government organizations' responsiveness in Jordan. A descriptive approach was used and a structured questionnaire was administered to a sample of respondents. Findings reported medium levels of democratization and responsiveness. A significant impact of democratization on government organizations' responsiveness to public demands is manifested. Separation of power, protection of human rights, free media and equality dimensions, respectively, reported significant impacts on the level of responsiveness. It is recommended that employee-toclient ratios need to be reconsidered in government agencies so as to meet the increasing number of clients. Furthermore, more consideration for conducting polls and research to improve agencies' capacity to respond to citizens' needs and demands is highly recommended.
